AI-Assisted Regulatory Pathway Optimization: A Multi-Country Analysis
Our scientific team publishes findings on applying large language models to accelerate cross-border regulatory submission preparation.
The HealthTech Nexus scientific team has published a peer-reviewed paper in Computational Biology and Drug Design, systematically evaluating the application of domain-specific large language models in cross-border pharmaceutical regulatory submissions.
Using the RegIntel platform as the foundation, the study compared AI-assisted versus traditional manual approaches for submission preparation across three regulatory jurisdictions: China's NMPA, Japan's PMDA, and Singapore's HSA. The research covered 47 real-world submission cases spanning New Drug Applications (NDA), Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDA), and variation supplements.
Key findings: The AI-assisted group achieved 94.2% accuracy in regulatory gap identification, 3.8x improvement in document draft generation efficiency, and 67% improvement in cross-jurisdiction terminology mapping consistency. Notably, for complex clinical exemption applications, the AI system still required review and judgment from senior regulatory affairs specialists.
The study provides quantitative evidence for AI deployment in highly regulated industries and proposes a best-practice framework for human-AI collaborative regulatory affairs. The full paper is available via DOI link.
